Master of Science Economics of the Middle East (EMEA)
Our mission: The Economics of the Middle East (EMEA) program equips students with the theoretical and empirical knowledge and skills necessary to analyse business and development questions with reference to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The programme is run as a close collaboration of the Center for Near and Middle East Studies (CNMS) and the School of Business and Economics (FB02) at Philipps-Universität Marburg.
We address in our courses a wide range of topics including political economy of Islam, natural resources, corruption, conflict, and economic sanctions. The third semester allows for a choice between specialisations tracks in 'Institutional Economics', 'Accounting and Finance', 'Market-based Management' or 'Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation'. Alternatively, our students can opt for an optional semester abroad at one of our partner universities in the MENA region.
