30.03.2020 Information on the summer term at FB02 #1

Dear students,

We hope that you and your families are well.

From now on, we would like to inform you every week – via email – about the state of our planning for the summer semester 2020. Therefore, we would ask you to check your student email account regularly!

The semester is scheduled to start on April 20, 2020. There will be no classroom teaching in the first weeks. We are currently adapting the teaching content for digital media and hope to be able to offer a schedule that may be somewhat limited, but hopefully also an exciting and innovative experience for both learners and teachers.

We plan to open registration for the courses in MARVIN on April 8, 2020. Please do register for all courses you wish to attend until April 17, as we would like to use MARVIN as the primary communication channel to provide you with passwords for ILIAS or for live streams and audio and video recordings.

The exams of the resit period of the winter semester 2019/20 are to take place as soon as external circumstances allow it, i.e., in all likelihood during the lecture period of the summer semester and parallel to the (online) lectures. Please be prepared for the exams to be scheduled at short notice (with a heads-up of about 2 weeks). As of now, we plan to keep your existing registrations, but there will also be the option to register for and to withdraw from registrations. Should you have any questions, please contact the examinations office via email.

The current situation is challenging for all of us. A lot of things will probably not go as planned and some things might not work out as expected. Nevertheless, we believe that this summer semester can also be a great opportunity to experience and to help shape disruptions and the innovations that go along with them that we usually only discuss in theory in our lectures. We are ready and look forward to it. We hope that you feel that same and that this summer semester will be the semester that you will particularly remember later. Let's do it together.
