Nicolas Gäckle

The CRC "Dynamics of Security" welcomes Nicolas Gäckle as a Visiting Fellow from the beginning of October 2024 to the end of March 2025.
Nicolas Gäckle is a PhD candidate in History and Theory of International Relations at the Center for International Relations Research, University of Groningen. Situated at the intersection of International Political Sociology and Political Theory, his PhD thesis constitutes the Covid-19 pandemic into an empirical space that allows for tracing the emergence of an experiential biopolitics by looking at problematisations of pandemic fatigue, pandemic hope/lessness, and pandemic dreams. Parts of this thesis have recently been published in the European Journal of International Relations (on pandemic fatigue) or are forthcoming in the Review of International Studies (on pandemic dreams). During his fellowship at the CRC 138, Nicolas will be finalising his thesis and further develop a new project on non-conceptuality and the concern for climate emotiveness.
