The practice-oriented Wirtschaftsinformatik / Business Informatics bachelor's degree program offers you an interdisciplinary, fundamental education in the fields of computer science, business informatics and business administration. 
Required fundamentals in computer science and mathematics are taught during the first semesters (e.g. programming, software engineering, linear algebra or optimization), while there is already an elective option within the business administration modules from the start of the program. The skills acquired in the basic modules are further developed in study-integrated internships. Over the further course of study, students can choose from the broad range of courses offered by the department in order to set their own area of specialization.

Major topics

The program focuses its major topics in the fields of computer science, business informatics and business administration, which have practical importance. These are supplemented by practice-oriented mathematical fundamentals in optimization and statistics.

In the field of computer science, the major study topics are in practical computer science and business informatics. In the field of business administration, there is the possibility to expand one's knowledge in the three major topics of "Accounting and Finance," "Market-Based Corporate Management" or "Innovation and Information."

Objectives

Successful graduates of the application-based Marburg bachelor program in "Wirtschaftsinformatik/Business Informatics" are specifically prepared for jobs in industry, business and administration which require fundamental skills both in business informatics and computer science as well as in business administration. Business informatics specialists are found in nearly all fields of the economy: IT management, software development, IT consulting or logistics are just a few examples of industries in which there are excellent career prospects.
