11.03.2025 Science Award of the Wilhelm-Wundt-Gesellschaft e.V. for Prof. Daniel Heck
We congratulate Daniel for receiving the Science Award of the Wilhelm-Wundt-Gesellschaft e.V., which was awarded at the TeaP 2025 (Tagung experimentell arbeitender Psycholog*innen | Conference of Experimental Psychologists) in Frankfurt by the chairman of the association, Professor Dr. Edgar Erdfelder (University of Mannheim).
The Wilhelm-Wundt-Gesellschaft e.V., named after the founder of Experimental Psychology, is a scientific association with the aim of promoting basic psychological research. With its science award, it honors particularly outstanding achievements in basic psychological research.
In his talk during the award ceremony, titled 'Multinomial Modeling of Truth Judgments and Dishonest Decisions', Daniel discussed the benefits of cognitive modeling in addressing substantive research questions. The talk explored why repeated information is more likely to be perceived as true, and whether dishonest decision-making is consistent over time and can be predicted by individual differences in personality traits.
