Languages
At the Language Center, we teach eight modern foreign languages in a range of different course formats. Because of our practice-oriented approach, the target language is used as a classroom language as much as possible. However, wherever this is less advisable, especially in lower-level courses, brief explanations are given in German (or English in German courses). For this reason, you should have a working knowledge of German to participate in courses at lower levels (except for German language courses). The information on registration and placement is available in English for all courses, however, in order to allow international students and staff members to familiarize themselves with the procedures more easily.
