Housing
Server Housing is the possibility of housing servers in a data center that are not part of the data center's own inventory. It is therefore the provision of basic infrastructure such as air-conditioned rooms, server cabinets and a sufficiently secured power supply, in which the corresponding servers can be integrated. The owners of the servers themselves are nevertheless in charge of server maintenance and administration. Operating many decentralized server rooms is usually not economical. Therefore, the university is striving to create centralized possibilities for housing servers instead of decentralized server rooms.
Target group
Server administrators
Status
Due to the current structural situation, the need for server housing can only be realized to a very limited extent. The University Computer Center is able to collect and document requirements if the server housing is planned in time.
