Learning Contents
We support you with consulting and training in the production and distribution of specific learning content for your digital teaching. You can create, upload and manage materials and published them via the central learning platform ILIAS.
The most common materials for pure knowledge transfer include files, teaching videos, lecture recordings, complex learning modules (also called web-based training) as well as electronic semester apparatus and literature lists.
You can make the learning contents mentioned above available to students via the ILIAS learning platform as part of curricular teaching. But it is also possible to offer a freely accessible publication on the internet as so-called Open Educational Resource (OER).
Despite all these possibilities, the legal framework conditions must not be disregarded. We provide non-binding advice regarding the regulations for the posting of third-party content within the framework of applicable copyrights and rights of use. If you want to publish self-created Open Educational Resources (OER), you should provide them with the appropriate licenses.

ILIAS Support Portal
The support portal within the learning platform assists you with all ILIAS learning objects. In order to get a good overview, visit the e-learning tools synopsis in ILIAS.
Open Educational Resource (OER)
OER are free learning and teaching materials that are usually published under an open Creative Commons license. These allow, depending on the license, free use, free reproduction, free editing and mixing with other content. Within the central learning platform ILIAS, there is a separate area for OER content which can be viewed without registration. If you want to create and publish OER content, we will be happy to support and advise you.
If you would like to find out more about the topic of OER and the issues involved, the information page of the Federal Ministry of Research and Education offers a good introduction.Electronic Semester Apparatus (ESA)
Together with the University Computer Center, the University Library offers the following service: Tell us which excerpts from books or journal articles you would like to provide online for your students in your course. We will then create a digital list for you in the ILIAS course. This list contains links or references to the scanned PDF files or to digital literature from the University Library’s holdings.
Find detailed information as well as an explanation of how to register for an electronic semester system on the University Library website.Legal framework
What is regulated by copyright law (UrhWissG), what is the right of quotation (§51 UrhWissG) and which materials may be made available electronically in university teaching? (§ 60a UrhWissG “Unterricht und Lehre“). We will provide you with non-binding advice regarding the applicable regulations.

Web Based Trainings (WBTs)
WBTs enable learners to acquire knowledge and, if appropriate, skills in terms of content, time and space. A WBT usually consists of individual units or chapters, which can, for example, consist of texts, illustrations and videos. In the ILIAS context, WBTs are realized as ILIAS learning modules.
