Modules and Internships in the field of neurolinguistics can be accomplished in various degree programs.

Overview of degree programs

  • Bachelor’s degree programs

    Language and Communication
    Modul S5 Neuro- und Psycholinguistik

    Language and Communication (major)
    Modul Psycho- und Neurolinguistik

    Language and Communication (minor)
    Modul Psycho- und Neurolinguistik

    German Language and Literature
    Modul A7b Kognition

    German Studies (major)
    Modul Psycho- und Neurolinguistik

  • Master’s degree programs

    Linguistics: Cognition and Communication
Modul B1 Methoden der empirischen Linguistik: VL/UE Statistics und tutorial (see below)
Note: Module B1 does not include a four-hour lecture with a statistics tutorial. Therefore, students can only officially register for the tutorial. As the lecture prepares students for the content of the tutorial, it should also be attended. For students who wish to specialize in neurolinguistics during their studies, the statistics course is compulsory.
Modul A2 Neurokognition der Sprache I
Modul V2 Neurokognition der Sprache II
Modul V5 Mentoriertes Selbststudium: In this module, students have the opportunity to pursue their own interests in the field of neurolinguistics and acquire specific methodological knowledge. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Dr. Domahs.

    Clinical Linguistics
    KL11 Wahlpflichtmodul Psycholinguistik

    Cognitive and Integrative Systems Neurosience
It is possible to choose Modul A2 Neurokognition der Sprache I of the Master's degree program in Linguistics: Cognition and Communication as an import module.

  • Internships in the research group Neurolinguistics

The internships prescribed for the Linguistics: Cognition and Communication degree program can be completed in the Neurolinguistics research group. This concerns the internships of Modul B1 Methoden der empirischen Linguistik and Modul V2 Neurokognition der Sprache II, as well as the research internship of the Profilmodul PX. Requirements are based on the applicable examination regulations. Comprehensive internships should serve as preparation for a thesis in neurolinguistics. If you are interested in an internship, please contact Prof. Dr. Domahs.

  • Theses

Both Bachelor's and Master's theses are supervised in the research group Neurolinguistics. Due to time constraints, experimental work with EEG and Eye-Tracking can only be offered to Master's students. Students are recommended to complete an internship in the Neurolinguistics Group before writing an experimental Master's thesis. With regard to the evaluation of empirical data, participation in the VL/UE Statistics is also compulsory.
