Contents
This minor subject will give you an insight into contents and methods of pre-historic archaeology, from the first man in the early Stone Age to the early Middle Ages. You will acquire a thorough grounding in different cultures over time. You will also learn archaeological methods, which you can employ both theoretically and practically in field research. The course will refine your historical awareness and enable you to analyse complex situations critically, to present them and discuss them.
Prospects
The minor subject “Pre-Historic Archaeology” will teach you methodological skills that may be useful for professional work in, for example, regional government, the museum sector, modern communications, journalism, public relations, project management, culture management, tourism, publishing, adult education, etc.
A minor subject will help you to extend your professional qualifications profile, which is decisively shaped by the choice of your major subject. In conjunction with your major subject, your relevant work experience (e.g. internships, part-time jobs, voluntary work) and your personal skills, it will enable you to refine your profile and carve out your own individual array of career options.
