Preliminary Information on courses in German as a Foreign Language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache, DaF)
Courses in German as a Foreign Language at the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen prepare foreign students for the linguistic demands of their intended study program. The courses are intensive courses, i.e., students attend class daily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and need to allow about 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon to complete homework assignments and do revision. In these courses students with a direct university entrance qualification will be given the opportunity to prepare for the DSH (German: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, English: German Language Examination for University Entrance). You can also prepare for the admission examination for the Studienkolleg (specialization modules) in these language courses if you possess an indirect university entrance qualification.
