Verena Schuster, she/her, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Translational Clinical Psychology. Her academic journey began with a focus on biomedical sciences at Philipps University of Marburg. There, she delved into neuroscience and received her Ph.D. from the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. Her doctoral research centered on exploring the impact of the menstrual cycle and oral contraceptives on brain structure. Dr. Schuster's academic pursuits have also taken her to international institutions, including the Department of Psychology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, and the Montréal Neurological Institute (MNI) at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. Her passion lies in understanding the complexities of the human brain, its role in shaping emotions and behaviors, and how internal and external factors influence brain function. To conduct her research, she employs a range of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. Beyond her academic endeavors, Verena enjoys practicing yoga with her daughter, mountain biking, and cherishing moments with her family and friends.
