Physik grüner Technologien / Physics of Green Technologies  (Master of Science)

Program: Physik grüner Technologien / Physics of Green Technologies
Degree: Master of Science (M.Sc.)
Program length: 1 years / 2 semesters (120 ECTS points)
Start: winter and summer semester

During the Master’s degree programme in Physics of Green Technologies, you will expand your extensive analytical skills from the preceding 8-semester Bachelor’s degree programme. You will perform independent scientific research projects, learn to maintain a scientific overview in planning and decision-making processes and apply your expertise to the critical analysis of various solutions in the field of sustainability.

Similar to the 2-semester “M.Sc. Physics”, this advanced degree programme only includes research, working groups and the Master’s thesis, although these are centred around the areas of sustainable technologies, for example, while in the working groups the focus is on “Solar Energy Conversion”, “Sustainable Materials”, “Structural Analysis” or “Semiconductor Photonics”.

Concentrations

The extended, independent research phase serves to prepare you for independent and autonomous work as a physicist in business, industry, at scientific research institutes and within public administration, especially where interdisciplinary skill is required, such as in consulting, planning or development activities and in professional fields where coordination between the various disciplines is required.

Prospects

The Master’s degree programme in “Physics of Green Technologies” is research-centric, preparing students for research fields in physics and other disciplines such as regenerative energy technology, materials science, applied measurement techniques, biology or nature conservation. Together with the preceding Bachelor’s degree programme, it is also application-oriented, as the work placement and continuous contact with professional representatives ensure a high level of practical relevance

Experience has shown that the prospective occupational fields of a physicist are very broad, and often extend far into neighbouring natural sciences and other disciplines.
