Although the path to peace in Colombia remains uncertain, the promise of a post-conflict future is generating activity. Alongside efforts to build the institutions necessary for transcending a half-century of violence is a nationwide process of development. Focusing on the literal work of building a peaceful future, and in particular a plan to revive commercial navigation along the Magdalena River, this talk examines investments in Colombia’s built environment at this critical conjuncture.
