Affective Readings
Affective Readings. Society and Emotion in Egyptian Literature, 1990-2020
This interdisciplinary project by Christian Junge approaches contemporary Egyptian literature through the lens of affect and emotion. By focusing on the importance of feeling to society, it analyses affective representation in literature and affective receptions of literature. It combines hermeneutical and qualitative approaches to a wide range of texts in order to understand functions of literature in a changing society. The research project has received funding by the Leibniz Forschungsgruppe "Figures of Thought | Turning Points" (DFG) and the Arab German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BMBF).
