A new study by  Sven Fischer provides empirical evidence on impact of the Trump presidency on the perception of corruption in the United States.

Abstract:
Using data from 2012 to 2023 and the synthetic control method, this study provides counterfactual evidence on how the Trump presidency had a significant and increasing impact on the perception of public sector corruption in the United States.
