10.02.2023 A warm welcome! Prof. Dr. Shakila Yacob as SFB Visiting Scholar in Economic and Social History

Ms Yacob will be researching and teaching at the Institute of Economic and Social History for 6 months as an SFB fellow. Professor Dr Shakila Yacob is a professor of business history and international business at the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya. She was formerly the executive director of the International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA), University of Malaya. She has also conducted research in Great Britain and the USA. Her research focuses on economic and business history in the period of colonialism and the decolonisation of Southeast Asia. In the summer semester 2023, she will offer a BA course on "Decolonisation and the Dynamics of Security in Southeast Asia" at Philipps-Universität (Tues. 12-14).
