The application process must be completed via uni-assist (a membership corporation representing universities from all sixteen
German federal states). This organization will carry out the preliminary examination of international applicants’ school and university certificates, for a fee. You will find further information about the procedure on uni-assist’s official website and on the
Philipps University of Marburg website.
You may be enrolled as a student for the duration of a maximum of two semesters while you are taking preparatory German language courses at Studienkolleg Mittelhessen. In order to enrol, you must complete your application on time. We recommend students reach an upper-elementary language level by the time of application. Once you have fulfilled the language requirements, you can change your student status and become a student in our department.
If the secondary diploma is not recognized, applicants are required to pass an assessment test at the Studienkolleg before being admitted to Philipps University of Marburg. You can check here its validity.Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen Application deadlines
All the study programs at our departments start in the winter semester. The application period for the winter semester via uni-assist ends on July 15 th. However, it is strongly advisable to send the documents about six weeks prior to the deadline, so there will still be time for any queries that may arise. Only those students who have previously earned study achievements in a similar study program can, after a successful transfer process of their credits, bypass the winter semester and start in the second (spring) semester.
