This six-event series, themed: “Scholarly and Activist Perspectives on LGBTIQ+ Lived Realities in Africa'' creates a monthly space for in-depth discussions on topics such as “queering coming out”, “colonial legacies of anti-LGBTIQ+ rights'', and “queering perspectives on power dynamics''. The discussion sessions will bring together legal scholars and scholars from the social and cultural sciences with renowned LGBTIQ+ activists from the continent. The panellists will shed light on the particular topics from their disciplinary and professional perspectives and engage in an interactive conversation with participants at the events.

Panellists
• Dr. Rudo Chigudu (she/her) is an African feminist, activist-scholar and artist fiercely committed to social justice and community self-determination. Rudo has worked at both local and international levels combining feminism, decoloniality and the creative arts to advance dialogue, expression and radical transformation.
• Prof. Charles Ngwena (he/him) LLB, LLM, LLD, Barrister-at-Law, is Professor of Law in the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria and works across disciplines. He has published on issues at the intersection between human rights and health, including HIV/ AIDS and reproductive and sexual health with a focus on the African region.
