02.08.2019 Guest researcher Sergey Rumyansev from Azerbaijan
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Sergey Rumyansev from Baku (Azerbaijan)/Berlin in Marburg. He will be the guest of the Center for Conflict Studies until the end of December 2019.
Rumyansev is a research fellow at the Center for Independent Social Research - CISR Berlin and a research fellow at the Imagine - Center for Conflict Transformation (Tbilisi, Georgia). He is also co-editor of Caucasus Edition - Journal for Conflict Transformation.
He conducted research on migration and state policy of construction of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Georgia, Russia, Germany and France; memory politics in education and the production of the image of enemy in the South Caucasus countries; memory politics, conflicts and patriotic education in Ukraine and Russia.
The Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung finances his stay in Marburg. During his fellowship, Rumyansev will continue his postdoctoral research project "Making 'West' from the 'East': Baku and Tiflis from the 19th Century till the 'Era of Globalization".
