Dr. Joana Amaral was a speaker at a scientific exchange workshop at the Graduate Institute Geneva last week (15th - 17th) on the use of UN sanctions with mediation in addressing conflict. The event brought together academics from both fields, UN staff and diplomats to discuss the findings and policy implications of the Sanctions and Mediation Project (SMP) lead by the United Nations University, swisspeace and the Graduate Institute Geneva.
