15.07.2024 Farewell to Kim Baudewijns !

At the beginning of 2023, Kim Baudewijns joined the Center for Conflict Studies as a Research Fellow in the research project: "The Politics of Reparations: Victims' Organisations in Transitional Justice Processes". For this project in Prof. Bonacker’s team, she conducted research on the role of victim organisations in transitional justice, working on the case of Guatemala. In this research she was inspired by the long-term commitment and protagonist role of Guatemalan victim-survivor organisations in their ongoing efforts to pursue justice.

Kim will continue to conduct research on the dynamics of victim engagement with transitional justice at the Human Rights Center of Ghent University, focusing on the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
