26.03.2025 Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel as a Panelist at the DAAD KIWi Policy Talk

TraCe Visiting Research Fellow Prof. Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel participated in the recent DAAD Centre for International Academic Cooperation (KIWi) Policy Talk, titled "After the Election: What's at Stake for Germany in International Academic Exchange?"

On March 4, 2025, the KIWi Policy Talk brought together leading experts online to discuss the impact of Germany's new government on international scientific cooperation. Moderated by Jan-Martin Wiarda, the conversation highlighted Germany's potential in global science, focusing on academic diplomacy and cross-border solutions. The panel included five international scholars from the USA, Brazil, Poland and Austria. TraCe Visiting Research Fellow Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel emphasized the connection between domestic politics and foreign policy, calling for more engagement with younger voters. Despite challenges, the panel remained optimistic about Germany's role in global agendas.
