06.01.2025 Welcome TraCe-Fellow Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel as a Research Fellow within the Research Center on Transformations of Political Violence (TraCe).

Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel recently served as a Professor for Peace and Development Studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Her research interests situate themselves on the cusp of peace, development and international studies. Among her publications, she is the author of the book Mobilizing Transnational Gender Politics in Post-Genocide Rwanda (Routledge) and co-editor of the volume Gewalt, Krieg und Flucht. Feministische Perspektiven auf Sicherheit (Budrich) as well as the Routledge Series Gender in a Global/Local World. From January to March 2025, Prof. Rirhandu Mageza-Barthel will be joining the University of Marburg’s Center for Conflict Studies as a Research Fellow within the Research Center on Transformations of Political Violence.
