It is difficult to meet job expectations without having mastered at least basic project management skills — no matter whether you work in industry or in science and research. Project management skills are required in many different fields and will be helpful in organizing your own scientific project.
This workshop will introduce you to basic tools and concepts, including IT tools, and will do so employing case studies. It will further provide a glimpse of new trends like agile project management. During the whole workshop, participants will be actively involved and work on different tasks.
Intended Learning Outcomes
After the workshop participants will be able to
- define what a project is and know how to approach it,
- structure the tasks and plan the phases of a project,
- develop a Gantt chart,
- define aims, identify risks and stakeholders, and
- use IT tools for planning and controlling a project and the related tasks.
