Echoes of Change: Exploring the Dynamics of Religious Atmospheres

International Conference, May 15th – 17th 2025, Marburg University

Interweaving the dimensions of space, action and perception, the approach of the research training group "Staging of Religious Atmosphere in Ancient Cultures" offers an alternative way of studying religions with an interdisciplinary focus. 

Our conference will examine the stages religious atmospheres pass through; exploring conception, creation, curation, transformation, failure, demise and remainders. These focal points will provide a unique access to religions and their atmospheres and, therefore, pave the way for future research. In addition to presentations, there will be discussions and workshops to enrich the academic debate with our own atmospheric experiences.

All events take place in presence at Marburg University, our two keynotes will also be broadcast online. We will send you the link with your registration.
