EuPac: European Past with Code. A Transdisciplinary Hackathon.
What is it?
A four-day hackathon exploring publicly available cultural heritage datasets related to European history. Over three days, participants will collaborate in teams of 7-10 members on predefined case studies, combining domain expertise with computational methods. Each team will be supported by one domain expert and one computational expert. On the final day, teams will present their findings as academic posters. This event is proudly supported by EUPeace university network.

Who can participate?
Students and researchers from any discipline – from the humanities to engineering (e.g., history, art history, cultural heritage, philosophy, computer science, etc.). Anyone eager to step outside their comfort zone of their discipline and engage in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork. No previous coding experience required.
How much does it cost?
Participation is free. For applicants of the University of West Bohemia, Philipps-Universität Marburg, and Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, a limited number of fully funded seats are available, covering travel and accommodation expenses.
