15.04.2025 Invitation to Roundtable
Cooperative research: a conversation across disciplines, histories and cultures

This roundtable is intended to bring together different perspectives on collaborative and participatory forms of research and science. It introduces the idea of cooperative research, understood as an umbrella term for collaborative forms and practices of knowledge production, in which researchers partner with international, civil society or community-based organisations, networks and initiatives on mutually beneficial terms. Inputs from early career and established scholars in geography, political science and history will serve to demonstrate the potential for cooperative research to make research meaningful and impactful for the partners involved and communities affected. Furthermore, as insights from security, peace and conflict studies show, it can serve to mitigate risks and access barriers faced in research in conflict-affected or authoritarian contexts.
Time: Thursday, 8th of May, 18.00-19.30 hrs.
