Networking is a key skill for professional success—but for introverted individuals, making and maintaining connections can be a challenge. How can you build authentic relationships without pretending to be someone you're not? What strategies help you make the most of networking opportunities? And how can you leverage your strengths as an introvert in networking? In this seminar, you'll learn how to approach professional networking on your own terms. Together, we will develop techniques that suit you and show you how to build a sustainable professional network step by step.

Learning Objectives

The students...

• Understand the potential and personal benefits of networking
• Learn how to build and maintain authentic relationships in academic and professional settings
• Are familiar with the opportunities and limitations of digital networking via social media
• Discover the best ways to establish new connections and can navigate the process individually
• Reflect on their own challenges and obstacles and develop suitable solution strategies

Schedule and Methods

The topic will be presented in an interactive workshop. Throughout the workshop, there will be brief presentations, followed by opportunities to test and
discuss the concepts in small groups. In guided, hands-on exercises, you will be able to reflect on your own experiences related to the workshop topic and gain new insights for your daily life. Afterward, all participants will receive detailed lecture documentation.

Requirements:

• PC, laptop, or tablet with a stable internet connection, as well as video and audio capabilities.
• A good group atmosphere is very important in the lecture, which includes being able to see each other, just as in in-person events. Therefore, in this workshop, having an active camera is highly appreciated.
