Research focuses

In Marburg, the world views, cultural peculiarities, and characteristics of the Ancient Near East are explored primarily using traditional texts from the scholar world, with a focus on Ancient Near Eastern “magic”, symbol interpretation and science. Here, the collection of unpublished cuneiform texts are being studied and religious and cultural topics are being considered from the perspective of the Ancient Near East. In addition, there’s a long history of digital Near and Middle Eastern Studies.
