International Cooperation

International cooperation of the CNMS in the Near and Middle East

The Philipps University of Marburg has given itself a new regional focus by founding the Center for Near and Middle East Studies. Marburg University was the first German university to establish a Liaison Office in Cairo in 2009, taking part in the DAAD initiative COSIMENA (Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa). There has been a continuous expansion of its international agreements and cooperation since then. From 2010-2017, the annual Hessen International Summer University (ISU) has been organised by the CNMS in cooperation with the Center for Conflict Studies (CCS), focussing on the Middle East.
