Application requirements
In order to be admitted to the PhD program of the faculty 03, to which the chair of Middle Eastern Politics is attached, an academic degree with a final grade of 2,3 or 10 points (German grading) is required. If the project is to be supervised by Prof. Dr. Rachid Ouaissa, this degree needs to be in the subject of political science. Please also consult the PhD regulations of the department, in order to check whether you fulfil the other formal requirements.
In order to decide whether a supervision by Prof. Dr. Rachid Ouaissa is possible, the following documents are needed:
- detailed description of the planned PhD project, including the research problem and question
- description of the methodological approach as well as the theoretical embedding
- structure and schedule
- curriculum vitae, including list of teaching positions and publications (if available)
- short presentation of the connections of your PhD project with the research foci of the department
- proof of regional language proficiency (if necessary for the topic)
- Additionally, the readiness to regularly attend the interdisciplinary PhD / Institute colloquium of the Center for Near and Middle Eastern Studies.
