Mission Statement

The Center for Conflict Studies is an interdisciplinary institution that engages in teaching, research and knowledge transfer in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies. With our dialogue-based and innovative teaching methods, the students are able to systematically analyze conflict situations and contribute to their peaceful resolution. The complex dynamics of conflict and peace processes in different societies and world regions are at the core of our research. We believe that universities are important places for reflection, dialogue and knowledge production that will help foster a better understanding of the causes of conflict and help devise sustainable peace processes. We publicly discuss our research and engage in exchanges with different actors in the political arena and civil society, as well as those affected by conflicts.
