International Summer Schools
Our international summer schools deal with various central topics of peace and conflict studies, most recently for example "Poverty as Conflict Risk" or the importance of memory politics for sustainable peace. The summer schools are always a place of encounter between students and teachers from different social and cultural backgrounds. Promoting international understanding is therefore one of the important goals we pursue with them. Previous summer schools, usually funded by the DAAD, have mainly taken place in Central Asia, Caucasus and Ukraine. In addition, the Center for Conflict Studies is involved in organising the Hessen International Summer University (ISU).
