Peacetraining in Europe
EU-Horizon 2020 cooperation project
As part of the research project „EU-Horizon 2020 cooperation project on Peacebuilding Training in Europe“ the challenges in conflict prevention and peacebuilding trainings in Europe are further discussed with the intention to find solutions.
This two-year project seeks to overcome these challenges by capturing and assessing the current state-of-the-art of peacebuilding training. Thereof it aims to derive novel ideas for training curricula, methods and linked activities with and for all involved stakeholders. The overall goal of the project is to optimize training and strengthen the capacities of EU and governmental institutions, NGOs, police and military as well as private sector actors in conflict prevention and peace building training. The fruits of this initiative are not exclusively for personnel of European peace missions: Those who are interested in enhancing their skills and knowledge in the field of conflict prevention and peacebuilding will benefit from the planned interactive web platform (PeaceTraining.eu), featuring inter alia information on training, knowledge exchange about best practices as well as network opportunities for providers, trainers and end-users.
In concert with 12 partner organizations in Europe, the Center for Conflict Studies works on the review, analysis and enhancement of European training programs in the area of conflict prevention and peacebuilding. The project is coordinated by the Research and Development Department of SYNYO in Austria.
