Fees & Funding
Tuition fees
For this program, you are required to pay tuition fees for the first year at the University of Kent. Please visit this website for updated information about the fees.
In the second year at the University Marburg, there are no tuition fees for the University of Marburg portion of the programme. However, for both years you will need to pay an administrative fee of approximately €1,000 (including free public transport in the state of Hesse in the second year), which is payable directly to the University of Marburg in installments over the two-year programme.
There are no compulsory additional costs associated with this course. All textbooks are available from the library, although some students prefer to purchase their own copies.

Study abroad grant ("Auslandsbafög) and alternatives
German nationals can also apply for funding through the "Auslandsbafoeg" funding scheme. If you qualify for funding, the grant can cover up to €5600 of your tuition fees at the University of Kent. German nationals are strongly encouraged to apply. Further information can be found here. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides information and advice on scholarships for German students wishing to study abroad and for international students wishing to study in Germany. German speakers can also search the databases of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Stifterverband. We encourage all applicants and enrolled students to apply for a scholarship. Please note, however, that most scholarship programmes are heavily oversubscribed.
Work
Non-German students are generally allowed to work up to 90 days (or 180 half days) per year while in Germany, depending on visa requirements. Students have the opportunity to work as student assistants at the university.
Grants
EU students can apply for Erasmus Placements Grants. German students can also apply for PROMOS scholarships, ASA scholarships, Carlo Schmid scholarships, AuslandsBaföG, Anke Reese scholarships or Heinrich J. Klein scholarships. We recommend that you contact your home institution or government to explore other potential sources of funding.
