Research
The main area of research in (comparative) law is the need for adaptation of the law in the context of the digitalization process. The focus lies on copyright law and media law. In particular, the effects of media convergence on the law are being researched.
This includes readjusting a media concentration law that ensures diversity not only in traditional media such as the press and broadcasting, but also in online media (telemedia, platforms and intermediaries).
This also implies ensuring the protection of personality and reputation in both traditional and online media in compliance with the constitutional requirements imposed by the freedoms of communication, especially against the backdrop of new threats posed by digital manifestations such as shitstorms, hate speech, fake news, cyber-bullying, cyber-mobbing, trolls, algorithms and echo chambers.
Another field of research is the adaptation required by e-commerce to the law.
