Criminal law is considered the sharpest sword of the state. When is punishment legitimate, and how is it limited? What are the effects of the use of criminal law? The particularly high demands of the rule of law in dealing with delinquent behavior raise these and other relevant questions. The team led by Prof. Dr. Jens Puschke LL.M. (King’s College) researches and teaches criminal law and criminal procedure law in the area of criminology with its relationships to sanctions law, medical criminal law, juvenile criminal law and the penal system.
