Germany as an Arbitration Venue
Germany as a venue for arbitration is in international competition. The state courts, which support and control the arbitral tribunals, are an important competitive factor: are they arbitration-friendly, neutral and fast? An empirical study that evaluates all German court decisions over five years provides robust answers to these questions for the first time. At the same time, it provides insights into the review of arbitral awards by German courts and into the arbitration landscape. The research project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Justice.
