24.09.2020 Information on the winter semester FB02 #1
Dear students:
First of all, we hope that you are doing well and that you can use the semester holiday to recover from the very unusual summer semester and to recharge your batteries for the upcoming winter semester.
As already announced, the Presidential Board of the Philipps-University has decided to continue to give priority to online teaching in the winter semester 2020/21. Accordingly, most modules of our School of Business and Economics will be offered online during the winter semester. However, we are planning to make exceptions, especially for first- and second-semester modules in the bachelor programs, but also for some modules in later semesters. Our goal is to initiate a return to the university as a place of encounter despite existing distance and hygiene rules. Specifically, we have asked the Presidential Board for permission to hold the entire or parts of the following modules in attendance, i.e. in lecture halls in Marburg:
Modules in the Bachelor program:
- Einführung in die Volkswirtschaftslehre (partially)
- Einführung in die Betriebswirtschaftslehre (partially)
- Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten in der VWL (partially)
- Induktive Statistik (lecture)
- Buchführung und Abschluss (selected exercises)
- Strategic Problemsolving and Communication (entirely)
- Marketing: Management & Instrumente (excursions)
- Personalmanagement (first session)
- Macroeconomics II (lecture)
- Intermediate Microeconomics (exercise)
- Bachelorseminar Wirtschaftspolitik (entirely)
- Wissenschaftstheorie, Dogmengeschichte, Plurale Ökonomik (partially)
Modules in the master program:
- Culture, Leadership, and Knowledge Management (first session)
- Gesundheitsmanagement (first session and excursions)
- Mergers & Acquisitions – Tax Due Diligence
- Internationales Steuerrecht
- Workshop Financial Modelling
We expect the relevant permits to be issued by mid October. This e-mail should help you to plan your course of study in the winter semester as early as possible. Registration for courses in MARVIN will be possible from September 28th onwards. Please register for your courses until October 29th. The lecture period begins on Nov. 2nd, 2020 and ends on February 12th, 2021.
A preview of the examination phases of the winter semester: Our first examination phase will take place from February 13 to 27. Due to the shortage of space, this phase will also include Saturdays. The second exam phase until March 31st (with two exams in April) will then be held in the usual form.
Finally once again an overview of important links:
