30.10.2020 Information on the winter term at the School of Business and Economics #3
Dear students,
next week, the lecture period of the winter semester begins. In this semester, most of the modules of our department will still be offered online. We thank you for registering in MARVIN by yesterday for all modules you would like to attend. For each module you have taken, you will receive an e-mail from the respective lecturers as of today (in the Master's modules as of Monday), informing you about access to the course material in ILIAS and to any online courses. Your student e-mail address (as stated in MARVIN) will be used for this purpose; please check this mailbox regularly.
If you have not yet registered for modules in MARVIN or have not been able to register for modules, this is not dramatic. It is possible to register in MARVIN at any time, and the lecturers will send the access data for ILIAS and online courses again, at the end of the first week of lectures.
In addition to modules that take place completely online, we offer some modules (in whole or in part) in-person. Specifically, these are the following courses:
In the Bachelor programme:
- Einführung in die Volkswirtschaftslehre (partial)
- Einführung in die Betriebswirtschaftslehre (partial)
- Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten in der VWL (partial)
- Induktive Statistik (lecture)
- Buchführung und Abschluss (partial)
- Jahresabschluss und Jahresabschlussanalyse (kick off)
- Strategic Problemsolving and Communication (partial)
- Marketing: Management & Instrumente (excursions, pending permission)
- Macroeconomics II (lecture)
- Intermediate Microeconomics (tutorial)
- Bachelorseminar Wirtschaftspolitik
- Wissenschaftstheorie, Dogmengeschichte, Plurale Ökonomik (partial)
In the master programme:
- Gesundheitsmanagement (kick off and excursions, pending permission)
- Mergers & Acquisitions – Tax Due Diligence
- Internationales Steuerrecht
We were permitted to hold these courses in-person. Of course, we are still monitoring the infection situation, so adjustments and re-planning may be necessary. In MARVIN, each course shows if and where in-person appointments take place - you can tell, if there is a room for a date/appointment. This information will be adjusted if necessary; however, we will continue to keep you informed by e-mail if there are serious changes regarding the teaching situation.
For in-person courses, of course, special requirements apply regarding infection prevention. You will find an overview of these measures in the attached documents. Please note that more time is needed at the beginning/admission to the events. You should therefore be on site 30-45 minutes before the starting time. Please keep the necessary distances. Please also note that students arriving late cannot be admitted to the lecture hall. In addition, please pay particular attention to the individual information of the classroom courses you are attending. This is how you enable yourself and your fellow students a safe and fruitful semester.
