Verena Schieferdecker about Her Thesis with The MARG

"In my master's degree, I specialised in Accounting & Finance and participated in a variety of courses at the MARG, which is why I decided to write my thesis at Prof. Dr. Rapp's department. Thematically, I dealt with the "E" in ESG in cooperation with Porsche Consulting. I analysed which dimensions of the environment regulators and ESG rating agencies incorporate, as well as how environmental ratings relate to the financial performance of listed companies. Besides acquiring statistical skills and learning how to deal with larger amounts of data, it was also a great opportunity to improve my soft skills. I would describe writing my master's thesis at the MARG as a highly rewarding experience. Similar to the courses offered, you notice that the department is really interested in its students and lets you think outside the box."
