Experiences with an industry-oriented project in cooperation between the MARG and Linde Material Handling
"During the first winter term (2018/2019) of our master program at the Philipps-University Marburg with a specialization in Accounting & Finance, we found out about the graduate research
project of the MARG. Inspired by the idea to link theoretical knowledge and practical experience and merge it into an ambitious project, we started to look for an appropriate industry partner. In Linde Material Handling (Linde MH) we found an excellent project partner, which was open for project discussions. Linde Material Handling GmbH, a KION Group company, is a leading global manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse trucks, and a solutions and service provider for intralogistics.
Together with the MARG and Linde MH we designed an interesting, but also challenging project topic: “Establishing comprehensive strategic planning process for Linde Material Handling EMEA sales & service entities”.
In the following winter term in October, we started the project at the Sales Controlling and Finance department in an international environment at the Linde MH Headquarter based in Aschaffenburg. For 6 months, we invested a lot of time and efforts into creating strategic planning approaches, challenging it to the head of the department and finally developing strategic tools for sales entities. MARG gave us the free space and scientific support we needed to realize the project. During our project, we obtained valuable experiences and skills, which strengthens us in our intended career choices. We are very convinced of the concept of the graduate research project.
We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Rapp, his staff and Linde Material Handling for the support and the perfect cooperation."
