Five students from the Hobson Wildenthal Honors College at the University of Texas at Dallas are currently visiting Philipps-Universität Marburg for 2.5 months for an “undergraduate research project”. The students are working in the fields of business/economics on current topics relating to attitudes towards the refugee crisis and inflation (Working Group Macroeconomics), the measurement of sustainability (ESG) in the capital market context (Working Group Finance & Banking) and the relationship between corporate financing and disclosure (Working Group Financial Accounting). At the interface of bioinformatics and physics, gene structures for clinical research are investigated using machine learning methods (Working Group Complex Systems). We warmly welcome our guests to Marburg!

The University of Texas at Dallas is a long-standing partner university of Philipps-Universität Marburg and, with over 30,000 students, offers an extremely broad range of subjects that is very complementary to the subject structure of UMR and therefore offers a wide range of opportunities for exchanges. With the M.Sc. program “International Political Economy”, there is even a joint degree program (“Dual Degree”) in the field of economics and political sciences. To date, the two universities have maintained particularly close exchange relationships, especially in business/economics, natural sciences and mathematics/computer science.
