18.07.2024 Bachelor seminar in Behavioral Economics in the Winter Semester 2024/25
The Public Economics Group would like to draw your attention to a seminar at bachelor level that we offer this winter semester.
In this seminar students will be introduced to a fascinating branch of Economics, where economic models taught in class are brought closer to the reality. They will familiarise themselves with new economic agents who, instead of being rational and selfish as typically described by the term homo-economicus, not only take an interest in others' well-being, but are also prone to biases and emotions in the decision-making process.
Surprisingly, these very human aspects can be an obstacle to our moral endeavors. This seminar seeks to shed light on this idea by making use of a book on how morals and other behavioral aspects are interrelated. Students are expected to engage in a thorough discussion of the book's content before digging deep into a specific topic that attracts them. Participants passing the seminar will hopefully be equipped with a better understanding of human behaviors as well as the economic tools usually utilitized in this inspiring field.
The deadline for registration is October 11th, 2024 via Marvin. If you would like to participate in the seminar, please contact Prof. Friehe as soon as possible via email. More information can also be found HERE.
We are looking forward to seeing you in the seminar!
