Economic Aspects of Political Institutions
The course can be credited in the modules „Economics of Political Institutions“, Political Economics“ or „International Economic Policy“.
It offers insights on how political processes and political institutions affect economic allocations, on the possible driving forces of the transition of political institutions, and on specific problems of international economic policy.
The course format, the specific focus and the examination method vary from term to term.

In the winter term 2020/21, the course was based on Acemoglu and Robinson’s book „The Narrow Corridor to Liberty“ . The students wrote several essays on selected parts of the book, which underwent a peer-review-process. Read the detailed course description here.
