BMAS has granted funding for a three-year research project lead by Dr. Hannes Rusch and Prof. Robert Böhm

The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) has granted funding for a three-year research project that investigates how individual and structural factors affect people's willingness to accept and help refugees. The project is lead by Prof. Robert Böhm and Dr. Hannes Rusch and represents a cooperation of RWTH Aachen University, Marburg University, and VU Amsterdam. It follows up on work published by the project team in PNAS 2018: "Costs, needs, and integration efforts shape helping behavior toward refugees".
