Perspectives
The goal of the Bachelor's programme in Business Administration is to train students in three areas of expertise. These are:
- academic expertise, by mastering the basic theory and tools of business administration;
- practical expertise, i.e. the ability to apply the specialized expertise the student acquires; as well as
- interdisciplinary expertise and key qualifications, which serve to help contend with constantly changing requirements of the professional environment, both in theory and in practice.
Solid academic training as well as more practical content is highly valued at the School of Business and Economics. The international orientation of the course material, the availability of lectures and seminars in English and the option of spending a semester abroad prepare students for an increasingly international and dynamic working environment.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration trains students for jobs in the private sector, including the industrial, retail and service sectors, as well as in the public sector and in associations. Graduates of the degree have the option of continuing to a Master's programme.
Graduates who choose to enter the working world right away should take advantage of the numerous projects, events and initiatives offered by the School of Business and Economics and Marburg University to teach important soft skills, provide practical working experience and help students with the application process and the job search. These can be found, e.g. at the Career Center of the School of Business and Economics, the Student Initiatives, or the University’s Career Center (only available in German).
