Reasons to study Intercultural Business Studies in Marburg
"Study business administration with an international orientation, learn languages and gain insights into different cultures"
Internationalisation has become an entrepreneurial challenge for large, small and medium-sized companies alike. The internationalisation of competition today affects not only the manufacturing industry (e.g. the automotive industry and consumer goods sectors), but also almost all service sectors as well. While Germany's most important foreign markets have traditionally been in Europe and North America, new hot spots have recently begun to emerge, e.g. in Asia, Latin America and Africa. This has generated a greater degree of cultural heterogeneity in the course of the internationalisation. The programme in Intercultural Business Studies is designed to teach students the knowledge and skills they need to overcome these challenges.
Five aspects of Marburg's Intercultural Business Studies degree give it a profile which is clearly distinct from that of other international business programmes:
- culture and language as a core component of the programme;
- dual focus on industrialised countries and emerging markets;
- a semester abroad as an integral part of the programme;
- the ability to declare core areas in business administration depending on the student’s interests (accounting and finance, market-oriented management, innovation and information management); and
- solid training in the methods used in business administration.
