Structure
The degree aims to convey basic skills in the academic and practical aspects of business administration and intercultural understanding, in addition to practical expertise. These skills are conveyed in an approach which closely integrates business administration, international business, culture and language.
The first phase of the programme is devoted to mastering basic theories and tools of business administration with a particular relation to international economic activity. The degree also offers a variety of opportunities to explore topics in business administration and economics in greater depth.
The second phase on international economy, culture and language, focuses on intercultural skills and language training, reflecting the growing international presence and interconnectedness of companies and other institutions. In this phase of the programme, students are taught basic knowledge about cultural regions from an ethnological, geographical or historical point of view. Over the course of the programme, students have the option of choosing to focus on the cultural and economic aspects of industrialised countries and emerging markets.
These core areas allow students to develop their own profile during the Bachelor's programme based on their individual inclinations and current demands in the job market. The degree is rounded by modules relating to methods as well as voluntary internships that help students obtain the necessary practical expertise, i.e. the ability to apply the knowledge they learned. In order to prepare graduates for the international character of professional practice, the programme offers courses with an international and intercultural orientation, as well as courses in English, and students are strongly advised to spend a semester abroad in the course of their studies. As a result, students can take advantage of a voluntary semester abroad without extending the length of their studies. The fourth or fifth semester is set aside for this purpose.
